We used our car's GPS to help us find some other viewpoints to see this bridge from. It really was worth the effort!

One of the many photos we took while driving over the bridge, the car on the right shows just how large the structure is.

We even found a road that went underneath the bridge...!

It was impressive to note there are flashing lights at the top of each of the towers. We couldn't tell whether there was a pattern to the flashing or not...

The Millau viaduct takes its name from the nearby town of Millau, this is the main square.

In another square in Millau was this rather enormous tree!

Our first view of the impressive 'Popes Palace' in the centre of Avignon. We had a lovely breakfast at a cafe just around the corner of this photo, yum!

This is a photo of some of the houses that line the main square in Avignon across from the Popes Palace.

Also in the main square were these two musicians busking outside the Avignon Conservatory of Music (we think). Double bass and accordian, you can't get much more French than that!!

Near the main square on the way back to our hotel was this piano player, busking. Very entertaining!

There was also this very fancy carousel complete with some tourists on it! In front is one of the many cafe's tables you see everywhere in France.

Avignon city centre is surrounded by extremely well preserved citadel walls as you can see here, one small section near the Pont De Avignon. We went up in the turret to a brilliant viwing platform where we got the next couple of photos...
