Near Weston-Super-Mare is a Helicopter Museum which we visited with our intrepid friend Tim. Captions have been provided sy Tim who knows Helicopters a lot better than we do!! Thanks Tim, great job. This one, plush interior (of an EH101?).

Bell UH-1H 'Iroquois', better known as the 'Huey' (after the original US Army designation HU-1A for the early types). This one saw action in both Vietnam and the first Gulf War.

Hughes YOH-6A 'Cayuse', better know as the 'Loach', after 'LOH' for Light Observation Helicopter. This one also saw action in Vietnam.

Sud Aviation (later Aerospatiale) 'Super Frelon'. This helicopter is BIG, with three turboshaft engines powering a huge rotor.

Eurocopter 'Dauphin'. This was the first Dauphin built by Eurocopter (Aerospatiale built loads), and was used as a fly-by-wire testbed.

Clamshell cargo doors at the back of a Mil Mi-4 'Hound'. This one came from the Czech air force. Design similarities with the West's Sikorsky S-55/Westland Whirlwind are clear to see!
