In addition to the traditional nativity scene above were these ultra modern inflated spheres that contained arty things like white fibre-optic christmas trees, some of them clear and some of them reflective silver. Quite a contrast to the buildings and surroundings!

We ventured into an old church across the road from Parc Egmont and saw this lovely stained glass window featuring family crests. Impressive!

In the middle of 'building nowhere' was this ostentatious gold statue, atop the Museum of Brussels we think. Odd. There was nothing else nearby to say what it was.

Close to the hotel was this toyshop! They also had a huge stuffed giraffe that was taller than Rod!!

Looking away from Brussels city centre and toward our hotel, Avenue Louise, where you can buy real fur coats and all manner of other luxury goods! Much more interesting window shopping than anywhere else we've been!!

In between the hotel and Place Stephanie were these pine arches. Vey christmassy and they looked lovely lit up after dark.
